Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling festival

Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling Festival rebranding in cooperation with Masha Arkulis

The brief was to rebrand an existing festival and find an interactive solution to any issue of the festival.

The Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling is a traditional event and it held annually on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper's Hill in England.

From the top of the hill, a huge round cheese is sent rolling down the hill. Competitors then start racing down the hill after the cheese and the first person over the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese.

Design elements

Because of the fact the festival is an old tradition and held by people from the village,  at the moment of working on the project it had not have any branding elements. Was decided that the main values of the design are British, tribal, fun and entertaining.

interactive solution

Since the festival has a majority of 80 percent of the audience which do not participate in the competition; was decided to design a gambling application.

The idea was to extend the experience for the cheering crowd and give the opportunity to take part at the competition as well. The audience will be able to bet on participants before and during the race with virtual chips.
At the end of the race the results of the race and the bets are announced and the winners of the gamble receive a meal voucher for the snack stands.

Tickets

There are two types of the tickets - regular tickets for the audience and competitor tickets. Competitor ticket has a number of the participant. On the other side of the ticket there is a schedule of the festival.
Tickets are glued to a little round cheese and mailed to the attendees.
